LifePoint Health Director of Pharmacy - FT in Versailles, Kentucky
Develops and implements departmental goals, plans, and standards consistent with the clinical,administrative, legal, and ethical requirements/objectives of the organization.
Directs and evaluates departmental operations, including patient care delivery, information technologies, service level determination, and complaint management, to achieve performance and quality control objectives.
Plans and monitors staffing activities, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions, and continuing education initiatives.
Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth.
Integrates evidence-based practices into operations and clinical protocols.
Follows Infection Control and Safety guidelines.
Manages drug therapy, pharmacy inventory, and provides drug information, reviews, interprets and evaluates medication orders for accuracy and completeness.
Maintains adequate knowledge of the pharmacy's automated dispensing system, barcode packaging system and computer patient profiles. Participates in Pharmacy Quality Assurance Programs through documenting interventions, therapeutic substitutions, etc and evaluates the data.
PI: Participates in on-going performance improvement for the unit and the organization
Continuing Education: Participates in continuing education for current practice, hospital requirements and licensing requirements.
Patient Care: Provides quality patient care, works other than usual shifts as needed, works other than usual areas / units as needed, if qualified for duties required.
Efficiency: responsible for the preparation and dispensing of medications in the most economical manner and uses supplies efficiently and economically.
Minimum Education: X Graduate of a Program in Discipline □ Preferred X Required
X Doctoral degree X Preferred
Required Skills: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.Ability to quickly learn how to navigate multiple complex software systems.Must be able to make computations in doses, infusion rates and scheduling of doses. Must be able to communicate with other hospital personnel with the ability to read, write, speak and understand English.Must be able to successful complete Skills Competency Skills Checklist within 90 days of hire
Licenses: Current Kentucky Pharmacist License
Minimum Work Experience: One year hospital pharmacy experience preferredPrevious management leadership preferred
