HOURS: 37.5 hours per week

As an integral member of the Transplant Outpatient Pharmacy Services Team, the Operations Leader is responsible for supervising outpatient pharmacy operations. Responsibilities include supporting the Pharmacy Site Operations Manager with all aspects of operations related to pharmacy and front shop services, finance and system improvements; maintaining customer service, clinical, educational and corporate responsibilities; provide direct and/or functional supervision of staff including human resources management; as well as other cross-functional duties consistent with the job classification as assigned. The Operations Leader will facilitate program development, and quality improvement activities within the department, while exemplifying UHN’s values of caring, excellence, teamwork, innovation, integrity, leadership, and respect.



  • Completion of an advanced degree (Masters or equivalent) or Doctor of Pharmacy degree preferred

  • Certificate of competency from the Pharmacy Examination Board of Canada required

  • Active registration with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (Part A) required

  • Pharmacy Residency an asset

  • Certificate of completion from recognized Injection and Immunization Training Program and Smoking Cessation Program preferred


  • At minimum over 2-3 years practical experience required (related leadership experience an asset)

  • Outpatient Pharmacy experience within hospital setting an asset

  • Familiarity with common drug therapies, as well familiarity with dispensing processes for specialty/transplant medications

  • Knowledge of adherence services including but not limited to compliance packaging, refill synchronization, and refill management

  • Membership in the Ontario Pharmacists' Association,Canadian Society of Hospital Pharmacists and/or other professional societies an asset

  • Kroll experience an asset

  • SynMed, ParataMax and RxSafe automation experience an asset
