Cigna Director, Pharmacy Communications - Express Scripts in St. Louis, Missouri
The Director, Pharmacy Communications is a new role to our pharmacy, responsible for leading the communications strategy for the Express Scripts Pharmacy. This role has responsibility for maintaining oversight for the execution of key communication improvements to deliver on pharmacy growth and exceptional customer experience. In this role, the Director will set the direction for driving consistent, intended messaging across all channels for all communications to pharmacy customers, including communications to our PBM clients on future products and process improvements. This role manages communications execution with key cross-functional areas to ensure pharmacy communications are effective, monitors communication campaigns to determine required adjustments to yield results, and ensures communications are targeted appropriately.
The Director serves as the end-to-end process owner for pharmacy communications, from strategy to execution and ongoing monitoring. Partners with marketing, experience design, technological and business development teams to craft communications that promote new and existing pharmacy products and services to patients. This role becomes the voice for the pharmacy communications (to customers and prescribers alike) and leads the Editorial Review Board (ERB) process in the pharmacy, includes our marketing and pharmacy practice stakeholders through our strategy, enhancements, and ERB process, ensuring we are promoting home delivery and making considerable gains across all channels as we drive simple and clear communications.
Lead Express Scripts Pharmacy strategy and planning for ongoing patient and prescriber communications
Gain knowledge of all communications current state, evaluates value of current communications and drives appropriate work to optimize/create new/close out communication mechanisms no longer applicable to strategy or delivering expected value.
In partnership with key partners, create multi-channel, integrated communication campaigns using patient preference, executing on home delivery value in the market and drive appropriate results toward acquisition and retention targets
Build best-in-class team and work processes to deliver in achieving business growth targets
Drive innovation and ongoing adjustment in campaigns by developing a monitoring process to determine campaign effectiveness
Oversee day-to-day management of the team responsible for pharmacy patient and prescriber communications
Report performance to senior leadership on a regular cadence, highlighting opportunities for continuous improvement
Lead and optimize the Editorial Review Board and the process to get communications to market.
Experience & Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or advanced degree required in related field or equivalent professional experience
7+ years of experience in communications preferred
Expertise in developing and managing communication strategy as well as sharing the approach with leadership
Proven ability to work collaboratively and effectively work across cross-functional teams
Demonstrated leadership skills with ability to effectively manage and influence
Ability to communicate concepts and insights to senior business leaders and partners in a relevant and actionable manner
Critical thinker and creative problem solver; seeks perspective from others to inform a unique perspective and able to influence/gain buy-in.
Effective prioritization and management of complex deliverables
Demonstrated results in being able to think strategically, anticipate future consequences and trends, and incorporate them into both a short-term and long-term planning
