Humana Remote Pharmacy Technician, Specialty Pharmacy Team - Work At Home Arizona ONLY in Phoenix, Arizona


The Specialty Operations Pharmacy Technician 2 supports Pharmacists in Specialty Rx medication preparation by dispensing Specialty Rx medications. The Specialty Operations Pharmacy Technician 2 performs varied activities and moderately complex administrative/operational/customer support assignments. Performs computations. Typically works on semi-routine assignments.


The Specialty Operations Pharmacy Technician 2 takes in-bound phone calls from patients and providers. Enters prescription orders into the system. Also supports Pharmacists and Patients by ensuring adherence to Specialty Rx specific operational processes and programs developed to optimize health outcomes which includes effective communication with patients and providers. Decisions are typically focused on interpretation of area/department policy and methods for completing assignments. Works within defined parameters to identify work expectations and quality standards, but has some latitude over prioritization/timing, and works under minimal direction. Follows standard policies/practices that allow for some opportunity for interpretation/deviation and/or independent discretion. Hours of operation M-F 8:30am -8pm (9:30 pm-9pm during Daylight Saving Time). Rotating Saturday 7am-3:30pm (8am-4:30 during Daylight Savings Time), once every 8 weeks. Specialty offers the opportunity to work from home after training and you're proficient in the role.

Required Qualifications

  • Possess an active and current Pharmacy Technician license int he state of Arizona

  • PTCB - CPhT

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • 2 years of experience typing prescriptions

  • Experience using multiple computer applications simultaneously and strong data entry skills

  • Phone experience with excellent communications skills

  • Experience using multiple computer applications simultaneously and strong data entry skills

  • Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences

  • Associates working in the state of Arizona must comply with the Tobacco Free Hiring Policy (see details below under Additional Information) and upon offer will be subjected to nicotine testing as part of a 10 panel drug test
