Fairview Health Services Manager Regional Retail Pharmacy in Minneapolis, Minnesota

Overview

Responsible for management of designated locations, provide oversight for budgeting for all retail operations, develop relationships with appropriate partners/customers to ensure successful ongoing operations. Ensure cost –effective delivery, consist customer service, clinical effectiveness, patient safety, engagement and development of staff, and regulatory compliance in assigned business units. Provide leadership and overall accountability for assigned focus area which could include: customer service, compliance, purchasing, contracting, IS, site development, policy and procedure development and maintenance, management, training or others as assigned. Assist and hold site managers accountable for achieving measurable goals and maintaining compliance with legal requirements and Fairview Policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

Oversee responsible areas to ensure effective, efficient, reliable, customer-focused service to provide optimal pharmacy delivery.

  • Responsible for preparation and implementation of multiple site budgets

  • Assist in the development and responsible for implementation of site marketing and merchandising efforts.

  • Responsible for compliance with appropriate laws, regulations and policies. Develop and implement necessary compliance policies and procedures, process improvement, training and monitoring activities.

Responsible for human resources management, employee engagement and development of staff.

  • Responsible for ensuring and developing skill sets so managers can perform effectively in their roles including human resource management, financial management , budgeting skills, marketing and communication, and problem solving skills

  • Assist the site manager in achieving success by enhancing their management skills, mentoring and coaching appropriate behaviors, encouraging team-building and delegating appropriate activities.

Responsible for ensuring that each assigned site follows FPS policies and procedures related to regulatory compliance, customers satisfaction, financial performance, patient safety, employee engagement and training, inventory control, store appearance and cleanliness and implementation of merchandising and marketing strategies.

Assume primary accountability for one or more of the following focus areas; staff development, staffing, supervision of Site Managers or corporate support personnel, new site start up, regulatory compliance, profit/loss and financial management, insurance contracting and implementation, wholesaler relationships, pricing, inventory control, training, medication safety, IS, satisfaction surveys and audit procedures.

Set expectations and guidelines for assigned focus areas which may include the following; regulatory compliance, 3 rd party contract compliance, professional aspects of the pharmacy including implementing’ efficient dispensing system and maximizing therapy outcomes; customer service to ensure CARE and exceeding expectations; profit and loss performance including revenue generation and expense control.

Serve as a liaison between pharmacy, the community at large, payers, professionals and other Fairview entities for selected sites. Provide representation for FPS at appropriate committees.

Provide general management assistance to the Director of Operations as well as to the Retail Pharmacy Management Team.

Demonstrates ability to provide care or service adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level and cultural differences of population served.

Qualifications

Minimum Education

  • BS Degree or PharmD in pharmacy from an accredited school.

Preferred Education

  • BA/Masters in Business or related field.

Minimum License/Certification/Registration

  • Current MN pharmacy license.

Minimum Experience

  • Three years progressive pharmacy experience as a pharmacist. Two years previous management experience.

Additional Requirements:

Working knowledge of third party pay plans, working knowledge of all state and federal regulations governing the practice of pharmacy in a community pharmacy setting, working knowledge of standard pharmacy financial and business principles, excellent customer service skills and communication skills, proficient in the English language, demonstrated ability to manage people and time effectively, good attention to detail, and ability to implement policies and procedures.

Vaccination Update

Current employees must have completed both vaccination schedules on or before October 31, 2021.Beginning August 9, 2021, any new hires who are not fully vaccinated against COVID-19 are required to receive their first dose prior to their start date and their second dose (if receiving Moderna or Pfizer vaccines) within 4 weeks of their start date.
