Elliot Health System Pharmacy Technician II- Sterile Compounding in Manchester, New Hampshire

40 hours per week, 3:00pm-11:30pm, including weekends


  • Prepares and distributes medication within Elliot Health System.


  • Performs in all pharmacy technician roles within the department including the IV room.

  • Applies knowledge of USP 797 Pharmaceutical Compounding of Sterile Preperations.

  • Performs controlled substance audits to identify potential discrepancies.

  • Compounds intravenous medications according to USP 797 Pharmacauetical Compounding of Sterile Preperations.

  • Processes and prepares all patient specific medications as per provider order for pharmacist check.

  • Distributes prepared medications to health system locations.

  • Maintains automated dispensing cabinet medication inventory.

  • Triages telephone calls to appropriate pharmacy personnel.

  • Repackages and restocks medications using robotic technology.

  • Performs monthly floor inspections to assigned area locations.

  • Triages nursing staff electronic communications to pharmacists.

  • Serves as pharmacist operational support during assigned shifts.


  • Knowledge of current hospital practice standards.

  • Knowledge of NH drug laws

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others including nurses, managers, vendors, and other health care industry personnel.

  • Proficient in all duties of an Elliot Hospital Pharmacy Technician including; IV Room Technician, OR Technician, Packaging Technician, Non-Sterile Compounding Technician, Main Pharmacy Technician

  • Proficient in compounding intravenous medications according to USP 797 Pharmacauetical Compounding of Sterile Preperations.


  • Education: High school diploma required.

  • Experience: Three years of pharmacy experience or two years of Elliot Hospital pharmacy experience required.

  • Certification/Licensure: NH Board of Pharmacy Registration and Certification Required.
