The purpose of Pharmacy Diversion Data Analyst position is to use data analytics to identify and escalate for further review and/or investigation possible controlled substance diversion risk. This position will also use data analytics to identify outlier pharmacy data which may indicate the presence of inappropriate activity. This position will create and manage both routine and ad hoc diversion analytic reports identifying potential diversion of controlled medications, high-cost medications, and other medications that have an appeal for diversion, daily management of system-wide drug diversion database, assist with diversion program development, trend analysis, as well as focused auditing activities. The position will also create and manage visualization tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, R Shiny) for controlled substances handling and diversion data that will be used by Corporate Compliance, Pharmacy, Legal, and Loss Prevention.

The position will collect, analyze, and trend diversion-related data from across the organization, including but not limited to such sources as EnterpriseRx, Quality Related Events (QRE), distribution activity data inbound and outbound from the pharmacy warehouse, DEA-106 data, litigation requests, concerns about relevant healthcare associate/provider behavior/performance, and patient complaints.

Year End Bonus:

As a year-end bonus to associates, Publix issues one month’s extra pay (pro-rated in the first year) each year if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check that year. This is calculated as a 13th month of pay in the Potential Annual Pay with Bonus line above.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in accounting, business, information systems, pharmacy/healthcare field, legal, law enforcement or equivalent experience

  • five (5) years’ experience with data analysis, internal audit, or reporting

  • knowledge of DEA regulations and controlled substance drugs
