Under the direct supervision of the Director of Pharmacy or the Registered Pharmacist and according to standing procedures dispense, prepare, and distribute medications and I.V.s for all patient age groups per hospital policies and procedures, and perform other related duties.
We are currently recruiting for an experienced, service oriented pharmacy technician with high attention to detail to join our team.
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Inventory oversight in all perioperative and anesthesia areas including off-site areas
Refill, maintain and adjust inventory in automated dispensing cabinets
Perform daily charge capture audits and report findings to management
Assure medication security and integrity in all areas, both in and out of the pharmacy
Medication expiration date control
Prepare, dispense, and distribute medication orders and IVs per prescribers orders
Maintain logs and reports on dispensing activities on daily basis
Make rounds to deliver medications to and from medication rooms and patient care areas including off-site areas
Retrieve unused medications from care areas, return to pharmacy and restock as appropriate
Order and restock medication shelves as required
Answers telephone calls, and relay any messages as needed
Clean and maintain medication and IV work area (IV hoods, medication shelves, crash cart areas, store room, etc) and department in neat and orderly manner

The candidate we seek is immaculately punctual, reliable and must be able to perform tasks in a quick, accurate and organized manner while prioritizing multiple responsibilities in a very busy high volume environment. The ability to work with automation, analyze reports and perform thorough documentation is critical to this role
Pharmacy Technician State of New Jersey pharmacy Technician registration.
Current Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) (if not certified, must become certified within 6 months of hire)
Two years experience with dispensing automation in an institutional environment highly preferred.
