Job Description

Job Summary

Manages operational improvement projects throughout the organization including clinical and non-clinical areas to accomplish measurable business improvements. Analyzes and measures the effectiveness of existing systems and processes, and assists with implementing systems to align, enable, and improve sustainable, repeatable and quantifiable clinical and business functions. Collects, validates and analyzes data to initiate, develop, and recommend operational standards that focus on the organization's priorities.

Essential Functions

  • Assists with the development and maintenance of cross-entity participation and collaboration to operationalize integration through change management, communication, organizational development, resource alignment, and other relevant strategies to accomplish organizational mission. Assists with identification and development of any new systems, processes, infrastructure, or resources needed to support system priorities.

  • Works closely with supervisors and managers to visualize and understand workflow and systems through value stream mapping or similar methods.

  • Coordinates work with various departments across Priority Health. Communicates, collaborates, networks with and acts as a consultant to key stakeholders in order to ensure continuity and coordination of services and appropriate utilization of resources. Assists with stakeholder management, particularly stakeholders external to the organization.

  • Learns about best practices and new trends related to improvement theory and methodology.

  • Understands and clearly articulates SHPIS to others. Understands how SHPIS is based on the principles of improvement as defined by Deming, the Shingo Model, and the Toyota Production System among others.

  • Understands, applies, teaches, and coaches industrial and management engineering tools such as: value stream mapping, A3 thinking, facilitating improvement events, leader standard work, standard work, visual management, 3P, hoshin kanri/policy deployment, and time and motion studies

  • Works on complex projects under the guidance of a department leader.

Qualifications

  • Required Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in nursing, process or industrial engineering, business administration, health administration, supply chain, or related field

  • 2 years of relevant experience in healthcare improvement; experience within non-healthcare companies will be considered Required

  • CRT-Lean Bronze Certification
