Pharmacy Supervisor- Lowry Pharmacy (Job ID: 4798)Job SummaryUnder the general supervision of the Manager, Ambulatory Pharmacyservices, the incumbent in this position will be responsible for the overallmanagement of their designated pharmacy, supervision of the daily activitiesof the staff assigned to pharmacy operations and for all operationalactivities and processes designed to provide evidence-based and cost effectivemedication dispensing, monitoring, distribution, customer service, andappropriate patient care. Provides leadership and oversight for training,education, and competency of pharmacy staff. Recruits, hires,supervises, and evaluates pharmacy staff. Ensures compliance with allFederal and State regulations, and departmental policies. Maintain team'sadherence to policies and procedures, provides oversight of payroll andscheduling, and provides staffing support as necessary. Provides leadershipand oversight for medication safety and security and for policy developmentand implementation in his/her Pharmacy.Responsibilities*Direct oversight of daily pharmacy activities including supervision of allassigned staff (pharmacists, technicians, students, interns, supportstaff) to ensure services are provided in an accurate and timely manner.*Coordinates and works with other colleagues (e.g. physician, nursing,ancillary staff, etc.) to assist in defining policies and proceduresgoverning the delivery of ambulatory pharmacy services in coordination withthe management/leadership team(s) and in compliance with all applicableregulatory standards, and state and federal laws.*Follows all applicable departmental and organizational policies andprocedures.*Attends or participates in other programs, committees, in-servicemeetings and functions required by the pharmacy department.*Develops and implements work schedules and assignments to ensure appropriatestaffing. As needed, finds coverage during periods of high volume, staffshortages and emergencies. Assures that approved work schedule is posted in atimely manner.*Monitors daily staff attendance to assure compliance with organizational anddepartmental policy. As necessary, due to employee absence, redirects workschedule assignments to assure that critical positions are staffed.*Identifies training and staff development needs of employees and ensuresappropriate training provided.*Communicates and trains, or coordinates with trainers, to appropriatelytrain staff regarding policies & procedures. Must monitor staff'sadherence to these policies and take action when they are not followed.*Works with the Manager, Ambulatory Pharmacy Services to provide anddocument initial and ongoing training to staff as required.*Sets clear expectations for staff by developing job specific expectations andbehaviors for each position supervised; clearly communicates expectations toeach employee and establishes the expectations as job requirements andperformance appraisal components.*Conducts all performance evaluations on time, working with each employee atleast annually to set specific behavioral and professional goals.*Recognizes positive behavior and contributions to the organization usingpraise, appreciation and rewards.*Delivers positive customer service and follow up on customer and employeeissues/complaints. Promotes positive interpersonal (customer)relationships with fellow employees.
