Job Summary/Purpose : As a member of the pharmacy management team, this manager is responsible for all clinical and distributive pharmacy services for University Hospital and it Extension Hospital (350+ beds), Ashley River Tower (200 beds), and the Institute of Psychiatry (100 beds). Each hospital practices in a progressive clinical specialist/pharmacist-hybrid practice model and corresponding hybrid distributive model. The manager is supported by clinical and operational coordinators and oversees 100 FTE (120 care team members). The manager champions inter-functional collaboration and communication across work areas and departments to support pharmacy practice. With the department director and other managers, he/she implements the strategic initiatives. The manager has control over all of the human, financial and informational resources allotted to his/her pharmacy cost centers.

Minimum Training and Education: Doctoral of Pharmacy or Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy and completion of management residency program; or completion of non-management pharmacy residency program and two years supervisory experience; or equivalent management experience is required. Eligibility for licensure as a pharmacist by the South Carolina Board of Pharmacy.

Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
