We'll celebrate milestones and acknowledge the value ofspirituality in healing.We're proud of what we know, which includes how much there is to learn.Your day.As a Regional Float Pool Pharmacy Tech, you need to know how to: Work with patients, providers, and insurance companies to obtain priorauthorizations Answer phones and enter notes from physicians in a timely manner Accurately read, interpret and enter prescriptions in a timely manner Route questionable prescriptions to the pharmacist for completion Prepare medication orders and delivers prescriptions according to establishedpolicies, procedures, and protocols Accurately type, bill and prepare prescriptions to extent allowed by stateand federal rules and regulations Perform basic calculations to determine doses and correct day supplies to bebilled to 3rd party insurance companies Evaluate and process approval of prior authorization pharmacy requests fromprescribers received by telephone and/or fax using client clinical criteria Communicate pharmacist's guidance on appropriateness of medication tophysicians, physician's office staff, and medical management staff Research, resolve and document prior authorization outcomes in pharmacysystem Communicate selected prior authorization criteria, pharmacy benefitcoverage and formulary alternatives to physicians, physician's officestaff, medical management staff and/or pharmacists. Escalate requests toPharmacist when request requires extensive clinical review or denial File prescriptions hardcopies, reports, and other pharmacy records,providing information to associates regarding available pharmacy benefits andservices Participate in quality and patient safety initiativesYour experience.We hire people, not resumes.
