Bozeman Health Inpatient Pharmacy Technician FT in Bozeman, Montana

Position Summary:

The Inpatient Certified Pharmacy Technicians supports the pharmacy department and hospital to provide safe and prompt pharmaceutical care to patients. Bozeman Health pharmacy technicians are responsible for medication distribution to all areas of the hospital including accurately preparing restock bins to replenish automated dispensing cabinets (“ADCs”), controlled substances and hazardous medications. Pharmacy technicians with additional training are responsible for preparation of intravenous compounds including chemotherapy agents and neonatal parental solutions. Additionally, responsible for project work as assigned, including audit and quality improvement tasks as assigned by System Pharmacy Manager , Operations Supervisor and/or Clinical Pharmacy Supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

  • Current Montana Licensure (Certified Pharmacy Technician)

  • National Certification as Pharmacy Technician (CPhT)

  • Preferred: 1 year of Pharmacy Technician experience

Essential Job Functions:

  • Responsible for patient/floor charging, ADC cart filled and restocked.

  • Restock narcotics as needed, manage inventory and distribute. Print and verify prescription and MAR labels.

  • Responsible for periodic verification of narcotic vault inventory and daily processing of orders.

  • Preparation and distribution of IV solutions under the direction of a pharmacist. Distributes IV solutions daily.

  • Follow established policies and procedures. Attend staff meetings as required.

  • Computer applications, MS Office, EMR, internet applications and standard office equipment.

  • Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work while meeting multiple deadlines.

  • Detail oriented, organizational skills and the ability to prioritize.
