We are currently seeking a Senior Government Pharmacy Consultant for Mercer's Government Human Services Consulting Group.This role can be located in Phoenix, Minneapolis, Atlanta, Washington DC, or remote. What can you expect? * The Senior Government Pharmacy Consultant will lead the accurate and timely data and financial analysis on large and complex state projects including team project management and operational oversight of long-term client projects * A significant part of this role is also to be a key leader or contributor for projects. Additional responsibilities include new and expanded business development, management and mentorship of junior staff and intellectual capital developmentWhat is in it for you? * Work for a global industry leader with a dynamic and inclusive culture * Excellent growth/advancement opportunity * Make an impact by helping the vulnerable populations through the development of meaningful programsWe will count on you to: * Work with the Senior Client Manager to manage the client, project, budget, resources, timelines, scope and expectations * Manage the day-to-day relationship with the key members of the client team; individually or in conjunction with the Senior Client Manager; presents on project results to clients, client contractors, managed care entities and other related entities * Work with the Senior Client Leader to initiate the project after a project is sold to the client. This includes meeting with the client and clearly defining the scope, timelines and deliverable(s) of the project. Also develop and propose essential project documents, including the budget and implementation work plans * Manage multiple project teams, ensuring the team is within budget, on time and producing work consistent with the scope of work and ensuring communication with client, project team and Senior Client Leader * Project manage tasks on large client deliverables in which a peer is the lead project manager; work with peers who are specialists to coordinate the specialist's contribution to the project. * Manage and contribute to data and financial analytical work on large and complex state managed health and welfare capitation and fee-for-service projects * Work with the client to define the scope of the project; serve as expert on project structure and methodology; ensure the project is consistent with federal regulations and actuarial standards, as needed; determine the appropriate data sources for the specific project's data analysis * Contribute to and manage data and financial analytical work and provide guidance in developing the data model for the project * Present results and analysis to clients and key stakeholders; during presentations, answer detailed and challenging questions regarding the dataWhat you need to have: * BA/BS degree * Minimum seven years of relevant experience required * Knowledge and experience of pharmacy benefit management, through experience at a health plan, pharmacy benefit manager (PBM), consulting firm, or state Medicaid agency * Excellent project management and interpersonal skills; strong oral and written communication skills * Strong analytical and mathematical skills, including strong command of Microsoft ExcelWhat makes you stand out: * PMP or CAPM certification * State Medicaid FFS pharmacy or pharmacy benefit management (PBM) rate setting or financial analyst experience * Managed care and/or health plan knowledge * Public sector consulting experience * Experience utilizing analytical software such as Access or SAS Enterprise Guide.To learn more about Mercer's GHSC practice, please visitwww.mercer-government.mercer.comMercer believes in building brighter futures by redefining the world of work, reshaping retirement and investment outcomes, and unlocking real health and well-being.
