Humana Clinical Pharmacy Lead, Remote in Albuquerque, New Mexico
Be a part of an interactive team with broad exposure and scope within Humana. Humana is seeking a positive and proactive individual to contribute to a high performing team that helps translate the clinical into financial to ensure Humana profitability.
This individual will work closely with multiple teams throughout the enterprise to inform the financial and clinical significance of new to market (brand pipeline) medications.
Oversees and leads our pipeline drug process, monitoring drugs in development and new drug approvals
Researches and analyzes drugs and emerging therapeutics, including financial forecasts on the web and works with analysts and actuaries to develop an internal financial forecast for the company
Continuously monitors relevant publicly available news/developments in the pharmaceutical sector, performing any ad hoc analyses and generating insights
Utilizes broad understanding of managed care and PBMs to develop strategies to mitigate Humana's cost and trend while improving our member's health and costs
Develop corporate communications of high quality to be shared with senior leadership such as trend updates, pipeline updates and market event notifications
Partners with pharmacists, business professionals and actuaries in a team environment
Presents confidently to senior leadership on key metrics including drug pipeline impacts
Supports clinical research integration activities with internal research department
Supports pharmacy trend management by conducting and analyzing drug spend, utilization and market share analyses, updating and distributing presentations/reports, drafting communications, etc.
Contribute to Humana formulary strategy as it relates to pipeline products

Degree of Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD or RPh) from an accredited School of Pharmacy
Active, unrestricted pharmacy licensure
Three years clinical experience in managed care or pharmacy related field
Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS)
Board Certified Oncology Pharmacist (BCOP) or interest in learning about the oncology drug pipeline
MBA, pharmacoeconomics or health outcomes training
Excellent oral and written communication skills, previous experience presenting and interacting with senior leadership
Flexible, dynamic personality with a demonstrated ability to lead and influence others without authority and is also an individual contributor
An understanding of financial analysis and equity research a plus OR willingness and interest to learn
Previous experience in trend analysis
Working knowledge of MS excel, MS PowerPoint required
